Abbeyleix Bog Project manages 500 acres that includes around 100 acres of degraded—but improving—raised bog.
Our local community takes great pride in managing the bog for the benefit of its habitats, wildlife and visitors.
Abbeyleix Bog Project is entirely run by its community of volunteers. This annual calendar is one part of the large fundraising effort to maintain the bog, replace and improve the boardwalk, upgrade the dipping pond and many more tasks.
