Step into a miniature wetland, handcrafted in Ireland. At DANU Ceramics, Ruth captures the stillness of a pond at dawn with a necklace that pairs a ceramic lily pad pendant with a tiny brass frog charm—a whimsical yet refined nod to nature’s quiet theater. Each piece is a small sculpture, finished with luminous 24-carat gold accents and suspended from a gold fill chain.
The lily pad is offered in three distinct ceramic personalities, each with its own mood:
1. Teal Clay – Rich, opaque, and deeply saturated. The unglazed or lightly sealed teal body carries an earthy, matte texture, while the surface is traced with 24c gold veins and rim highlights. The brass frog sits beside or below it, as if caught mid-leap.
2. Porcelain with Green Wash Glaze – Translucent and soft. The white porcelain base receives a delicate wash of pale green that pools gently in the lily pad’s low points. The result feels like moonlit jade. Gold detailing picks out the veining, while the brass frog adds a warm, metallic counterpoint.
3. Porcelain with Shimmer Glass Fill – Ethereal and luminous. A clear or pale aqua glass frit is fired into the porcelain surface, creating tiny, light-catching crystals that sparkle like dew or morning mist. The 24c gold accents ground the shimmer, and the brass frog—oxidised or polished—provides a playful, organic anchor.
Each lily pad measures approximately 25–30mm across, with the brass frog adding a delicate 10–12mm charm. Because every pad is hand-shaped, glazed, and decorated by Ruth, slight variations in glaze pooling, gold placement, and frog positioning are not flaws—they are signatures of craft.
