Description

A unique and once off large turned wood lamp which has been treated using the Shou Sugi Ban method and brushed to create a highly textured appearance, finished with copper pipe fittings and a 40cm  lamp shade.

What is Shou Sugi Ban? Shou Sugi Ban literally means “burned cedar.” It is an ingenious 18th-century Japanese wood burning technique that creates an intriguing charred appearance that highlights natural wood veining, creates textural interest, and varies in appearance according to how much fire is applied and which type of wood is used.

Total height 64cm (c. 25 inches).

Made in Co Laois, Ireland by Richard
