This exquisite ceramic bowl transcends ordinary function to become a captivating sculpture for the table. Each piece is a unique testament to nature’s intricate artistry, meticulously formed not from a single wheel-thrown shape, but from individual ceramic plates shaped and joined by hand. The creator’s process begins in the garden, with the pressing of a vibrant viburnum leaf into soft, wet clay. This technique captures the leaf’s complex, veined architecture with astonishing fidelity—every serrated edge and radiating midrib is preserved in crisp, eternal detail.
Once assembled, the form is enveloped in a lush, translucent green glaze, reminiscent of a sun-dappled forest canopy or the first rich hues of spring. The glaze pools and flows, enhancing the dimensional texture and creating a play of light and shadow across the leafy topography. The crowning detail is a band of delicate, hand-applied gold edging that traces the bowl’s rim. This luminous highlight frames the organic form, adding a touch of refined elegance and ensuring the piece glows with a warm, sophisticated radiance.
Measuring 16cm in diameter and 6cm deep, the bowl is a perfect scale for holding precious items—from artisan sweets and jewellery to a solitary, statement bloom.
