Description

Beautiful handcrafted bowl inspired by a celtic goddesses who would become one of our most famous christian saints.

Brigid is a fascinating figure in both Celtic mythology and Christian tradition.

In Celtic mythology, Brigid is a goddess associated with poetry, healing, fertility, and smithcraft. She was one of the most important deities in Irish mythology and was often considered a patroness of various aspects of life.

With the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, many pagan deities were assimilated into the new religion as saints. Brigid underwent this transformation and became Saint Brigid, one of Ireland’s patron saints. The Christian Saint Brigid is often associated with the founding of several important monasteries and is revered for her charity and compassion.

Saint Brigid’s feast day on 1st February corresponds with the ancient Celtic festival of Imbolc, which celebrates the beginning of spring and is associated with the goddess Brigid.
